Kris . Meaghan . Aidan

This was one of the fastest portrait sessions Tim and I have ever done. The best time to get together for everyone involved was right after a late lunch, and Aidan naps at 2:30; we had 45 minutes to meet at Tenney Park and take as many pictures as we could! That said, Meaghan and Kris were totally on top of it: they ran after their energetic toddler, scooped him up, and smiled like crazy at the camera until he wiggled his way down. It would have been funny once, but it was hilarious in succession: run, scoop, smile, run, scoop, smile… I LOVED it.

A mid-day photoshoot isn’t ideal because of the intense light, but in this case I kind of love the drama of the strong highlights and shadows. It’s a fun “lunchtime at the park” family portrait which, I think, really captures this family’s spirit and energy.

Aidan, like most toddlers, was a bundle of energy during our photoshoot. However, when his dad pulled his toy trains out of the bag, he immediately turned serious and played trains intently. It was pretty cute – Aidan really didn’t have the time of day for anyone after those trains surfaced. Train in hand, Kris did manage to get Aidan into his Halloween costume at the end of the shoot, and we got some fantastically-cute tiger photos.  Meaghan was adamant about avoiding traditional hands-on-belly pregnancy poses (I don’t blame her!), but we got some love shots and some kid shots and as many family shots as Aidan would sit for! Tim and I had a GREAT time at the park with Kris, Meaghan & Aidan and it was a pretty awesome experience to capture this family right before their new addition.
